It would appear that M3 is the superior system. Although it's not perfect, it's miles ahead of Pure in both reliability and userbility. If Electra was modernised I would be completely satisfied. It's a shame that they've taken to this crusade of forcing people over to pure and I feel horrendously bad for brokers on Pure this week and I hope you all manage to recover from this disaster.

Just joined the group and read through all the comments. Main concern HAS to be around data and it seems some say it's 100% safe and others feel something more sinister is going on and we are not being informed. My feeling right now, if we are going to try and club together for anything, is to demand evidence or assurance from SSP that the DATA has not been compromised. If we can't at least get reassurance on the data, then we may as well all get down the job centre tomorrow morning.
Most of us are resilient enough to get over the back log and the loss of some policies during the down time, but if we never get back the data then that's it, isn't it?
Let's hope not....

I also agree with neilk1. It is a worrying time for us all - especially as it is taking SSP so long to sort something out! As the days go by, we are starting to lose extra business from existing clients (personal lines). At least we can offer quotes to commercial clients as we use insurers online quote systems. Its just embarrassing all round as we keep having to explain to customers why we are unable to help.

That's not what the sales team said when they forced the pure system on us. Nor does it say that in the contract. The contract refers to a seamless switch in the event of a site failure. And the reinstatement of the other site within 3 days. There's more to this than a power cut. A powercut or surge isn't unforseen. Bad planning and arrogance have caused this. I'm sure there is much more to this than they are telling us. My brokerage has come across many system issues that they tried to cover up - faults that they knew about before the system went live and did not tell us they were there which led to multiple clients being off cover for a period of time. When we questioned them over it they were told us they had known about these issues but couldn't tell us in case the news got out and it put other brokers off buying into the system. So I really wouldn't put it past them to be lying about this -trying to cover something up. My contract is up shortly and I will not be renewing it with them. I think all the affected brokers will be voting with their feet when contracts are up!

We run both a client address and contact list, and a separate insurer list as part of our BCP routine ... doesn't anyone else have a contingency in place?

Does it also tell you when clients are due for renewal/over due/ renewal or quote price etc? We have a contact list for insurers (who doesn't ?) but just an address and phone number for a client has limited use... Isn't it down to SSP to have a contingency plan as its their cock up? We have in house back up in case phones or broadband go down.

USER GROUP MEETING?
Hi all, I think it might be an idea if some of us could get together for a user group meeting to discuss the current issues? It might be easier if we go to SSP collectively to try a rectify this situation and hopefully we can get a resolution that will help us all.
If there is enough people interested we can find a venue and a time to suit the majority.
Thoughts?

Dear All - A colleague of mine alerted me to the issues with SSP. Without wishing to come across as an ambulance chaser, I am a lawyer and would be happy to assist with any combined legal support you or any of you may have individually in regards to this incident. If so, please do email me at pjames@sheridans.co.uk. I specialise in commercial technology, IP and data privacy/security/cyber risk. Best, Phil.

What i find very hard to believe based on the recent comments is why they started to ship the data and unpack it to the other data centre over the weekend. Surly they would have been better starting this process last week alongside their failed attempts to resolve issues with the Solihull location. That way they would have been working on two possible parallel fixes so if one did not come through there would have been less of a delay in getting you back into your systems. I suspect there was an issue with the data which they are covering up.

I wish I could say that this level of incompetence from SSP surprises me. Let's all have a think about the last time we were actually happy with their service levels... This could be a watershed moment for many - pressure to convert to PURE for many brokers should be ignored and those too fearful of leaving SSP completely due to the upheaval will now be strongly considering it.
